Who is eligible? 

Resident Member 

Physicians enrolled in an allopathic or osteopathic orthopaedic residency program in the U.S. or Canada AND Physicians enrolled in postgraduate fellowship training. 


Candidate Member 

Graduates of U.S. or Canadian allopathic or osteopathic orthopaedic residency programs or subsequent fellowship training or internationally-trained orthopaedic surgeons licensed and practicing in the U.S. or Canada.  This category of membership is limited to five years after completion of training.

 

Active Fellow  

Orthopaedic surgeons practicing in the U.S. or Canada who are certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  Each year, applications are accepted as a class between the months of November and March.  The deadline for applications has been extended.  Fellow applications for the Class of 2018 are now being accepted through April 1, 2017.

 

Associate Osteopathic Member

Osteopathic orthopaedic surgeons practicing in the U.S. or Canada who are certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  Each year, applications are accepted as a class between the months of November and January. The deadline for applications has been extended. Applications for the Class of 2018 are now being accepted through April 1, 2017. 

 

Associate Orthopaedic Member

Internationally-trained orthopaedic surgeons practicing in the U.S. or Canada who are ineligible to become certified by the American Orthopaedic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS).  Each year, applications are accepted as a class between the months of November and January. The deadline for applications has been extended.  Applications for the Class of 2018 are now being accepted through April 1, 2017. 

 

Associate Allied Specialty or Basic Science Member

Individual holding a doctorate degree or equivalent, engaged in the research of basic science related to orthopaedic surgery OR non-orthopaedic allopathic or osteopathic physicians whose activities, interests and contributions are closely related to orthopaedic surgery.  Click here to download the application.

 

International Member

Orthopaedic surgeons who are in practice outside of the U.S. Applications for the 2016-2017 Membership year are no longer being accepted.  We are currently accepting applications for the 2017-2018 year.  Applications will be processed prior to the beginning of the membership year, April 1, 2017. 

 

International Resident Member

Physicians enrolled in an orthopaedic residency program outside of the U.S. or Canada. Click here to download the application.
