Denver Broncos Football Club Physician Consultant

Dr. Genuario, a native of Colorado, began his love of sports medicine and health policy while participating in athletics and serving on several boards at the great University of Notre Dame. There he earned a BS in biology and a minor in Anthropology, but most importantly met the love of his life, Kristy. Together, they journeyed to Chicago where he secured a medical doctorate while graduating AOA from Northwestern University. They continued their travels east to Dartmouth College to pursue an orthopaedic surgery residency. While at Dartmouth, both his degrees and his family expanded as he earned a master’s degree focusing on health policy while spending a year involved in the prestigious American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon’s Health Policy Fellowship. During the 2005-06 year with the Fellowship, Jamie focused on medical liability reform. He co-authored a JAAOS article entitled "Current Issues in Health Policy: a Primer for the Orthopaedic Surgeon," and participated in monthly publications in the section "Ahead of the Curve" in AAOS Now.

Dr. Genuario and his family of five returned to Colorado to complete his orthopaedic training with a fellowship in sports medicine at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic Denver. During this year, he served as a physician for both the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos Football Club.

Currently, Dr. Genuario resides in Denver, working with the Steadman Hawkins Clinic Denver. He serves as an Associate Team Physician for the Colorado Rockies while specializing in care of the recreational and professional athlete. As an active researcher, Dr. Genuario has contributed to the advancement of orthopaedics with publications of numerous articles, abstracts and book chapters. He has presented at conferences across the country and has a particular interest in the establishment of cost-effective patient care.
