Occupational Health and Workers Compensation Committee
The Occupational Health and Workers Compensation Committee serves as a resource to the AAOS fellowship in the areas of ergonomic standards, reimbursement, disability evaluations, impairment ratings, and early return to work programs, as well as quality of care issues relating to workers compensation patients. The Committee monitors developments in the governmental and standard-setting agencies and collaborates with these agencies as well as the medical community in the generation of standards as they relate to the practice of orthopaedics. The Committee, in concert with the Evidence-Based Practice Committee, also develops evidence-based practice and utilization review guidelines for the treatment of patients injured in the workplace.
