Guidelines and Technology Oversight Committee
The AAOS Guidelines and Technology Oversight Committee oversees the AAOS Evidence-Based Analysis/Guidelines Workgroups and their development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for musculoskeletal conditions by appointing workgroup chairs, workgroup members, choosing guideline topics, and setting standards for guideline development methodology.

The Committee is currently working to develop clinical practice guidelines via multispecialty orthopaedic workgroups on the following topics:
- Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Anticipated completion date: fall 2008 - Non-surgical Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Knee
Anticipated completion date: fall 2008
Specialty societies participating so far in developing these guidelines include North American Spine Society (NASS); American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS); Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA); American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH); Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA); and the Board of Councilors (BOC).
