POSITION TITLE:
Digital Media Specialist
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Receives, uploads, and edits video for digital media projects using Adobe Premiere a professional video editing tool. Creates, edits, and organizes digital images using Adobe Photoshop, for use in video and computer-mediated education programs.
Coordinates the peer review process for media programs submitted for possible presentation at the Annual Meeting and the Orthopaedic Surgery Video Library in support of the Multimedia Education Center Subcommittee (MECS). Works with media contributors, members and non-members, and committee members to receive, format, duplicate and distribute media programs for peer review. Coordinates the receipt, reporting, and presentation of peer review results and programs at the MECS fall meeting.
Coordinates and produces webinars. Acquire assets for each program, review content for technical issues, schedule rehearsals, train participants and monitor live presentations. Responsible for keeping up to date on webinar technology and suggesting process improvements when identified. Creates webinar CDs after live broadcast.
Coordinates the functional design, digital media acquisition, data formatting, proofing, testing and construction of new electronic media and software programs for Orthopaedic CodeX software, working with internal and external developers and programmers
Provides timely technical support to customers regarding the Academy electronic media programs and digital publication supplements (i.e. helping customers install and use program features). This includes providing telephone and email support, identifying, and recreating customer technical problems, troubleshooting, and resolving problems.
Coordinates the development of video supplements to print publications, including the media acquisition for Instructional Course Lectures video supplement, peer review, digital media transfer into the computerized high-definition edit system, creating graphics, editing videos, creating the final video program, working with the independent contractor for final programming, quality control, and overseeing replication of the finished program for insertion in the print publication.
TRAVEL:
Approximately 10-15 days per year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Three years experience creating computer graphics using Adobe PhotoShop;
Two years experience developing media for Internet presentation using Dreamweaver;
Two years experience editing digital video editing using Adobe Premiere CS 5.5; Two years experience working with the Adobe Acrobat Professional to create, display and protect digital documents; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Strong organizational and project management skills, experience at multitasking and meeting deadlines; Above average ability in organizational, written and oral communication, includes accurate proofreading skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Desired: Undergraduate degree; An understanding of digital video compression and video presentation technologies; Experience with Final Cut Pro.
