POSITION TITLE:

IT Data Technician, AJRR

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This entry level position is responsible for all AJRR data import services. Creates pre-processing scripts focused on eliminating variance in AJRR data delivered electronically for import into the AJRR registry. Works closely with AJRR contributing sites IT departments to prepare, provide feedback and import the AJRR registry data into the registry. The AJRR technical support analysis manages the AJRR orthopaedic implant reference data set. This position will also be responsible for configuring the AJRR registry system for new hospitals, physician practice groups, and manual data entry users as required. This individual is responsible for modifying the AJRR forms, data elements and import templates to incorporate simple additions or corrections to the registry.

Primary person responsible for the AJRR Data Import function. Works with direction of AJRR Senior Software Engineer to import all data sent electronically into the AJRR registry database. The AJRR IT Technician works closely with the AJRR software vendor to ensure that the import application and import templates accurately stores data in the registry. Maintains the AJRR component reference data library.

Primary person responsible for maintaining the AJRR orthopaedic component reference data set. Works with the orthopaedic implant vendors on importation of vendor component catalogs. Identifies new components that are not part of the AJRR reference data set and researches the components either independently or with the manufacturers to import the new component and its related family into the registry.

Participates with the AJRR IT staff and hospital IT groups to identify the best method for submitting data to the AJRR. This person is the responsible for reviewing initial electronic submissions and providing feedback to hospitals. Configures new users and maintains the AJRR SFTP site.

The AJRR IT technician will maintain the user accounts for AJRR registry data systems including configuration of new users and setting the appropriate access privileges for the user. This person is also responsible for incorporating any hospital information including AJRR hospital pre-work into the registry application. The technician will also be trained to make minor configuration and reporting to the AJRR registry system. The AJRR IT technician may also be called upon to assist with content changes to the AJRR website. This position will also work closely with the recruitment team to ensure that hospital pre-work and submission tracking is accurate and up to date.

Performs all other job related duties as required or assigned. This employee may be subject to a background check based on access to private health information.

TRAVEL:

3-5 days per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Proficient in Microsoft office tools; demonstrated experience with software development tools; associates Degree in Computer Science or a related field; above average ability in communication and human relations skills; strong organizational skills and user orientation. Desired: Knowledge and experience with stream editors such as Perl or Sed; Microsoft Sharepoint and Outlook 2000/2003; knowledge of SQL Server and or other relational database systems.
