Technical Requirements

Please note the following technical requirements for successfully using the AAOS Web Site:

Enable Javascript

You will need to have Javascript enabled in your browser in order to view the site accurately. Your browser should default with Javascript enabled; therefore, this will need to be addressed only if you have changed your browser setting to disable Javascript.

Enable Cookies

In order for you to log on to the AAOS site, your browser must be set to accept "cookies." Your browser should default with cookies enabled; therefore, this will need to be addressed only if you have changed your browser to reject cookies.

Monitor Resolution

We recommend that you set your monitor resolution to 800 by 600 pixels or 1024 by 768 pixels, 16 bit color, for optimal viewing.

Web Browser

The AAOS web site requires a recent version of a Web browser to display correctly. Any of the following browsers will work:

• For Windows computers:
• Internet Explorer 6.0 (download from Microsoft Web site)
• Internet Explorer 5.5
• Netscape Navigator 8.1 (download from Netscape Web site)
• Mozilla (download from Mozilla Web site)
• For Macintosh computers:
• Mozilla (download from Mozilla Web site)
• For Linux computers:
• Mozilla (download from Mozilla Web site)

Multimedia (including Video)

In order to play the various multimedia types included on the AAOS web site, the following software is needed:

• For Windows computers:
• Windows Media Player 10 Series for Windows XP (download from Microsoft Web site)
• Windows Media Player 6, 7, or 8 should also play the video and audio.
• For Macintosh computers:
• Windows Media Player 7.1 for Mac (for Mac OS 8.6 or later) (download from Microsoft Web site)
• For all Operating systems:
• Real Networks Player (download from Real Player web site)

Other Software

Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view any of the JAAOS articles and various other documents that are stored in PDF format.
