TeamSTEPPS Workshop Scheduling

Application and Scheduling

AAOS requires interested sites to complete a TeamSTEPPS Training Program application form.

Upon receipt of your application AAOS staff will contact you to finalize the workshop date and identify a mentor(s) to lead the program.

Workshops are designed for teams of orthopaedic surgeons, other physicians (e.g. anesthesiologists), physician assistants, nurses and others working in together in a hospital operating room, ambulatory surgery center, or clinic.

AAOS has allocated funds to support workshop presentation. Specifically, AAOS is providing funds to underwrite travel costs for up to 2 mentors for a workshop. The host site is responsible for establishing and setting up the training session room, A-V equipment, and catering. If the workshop is held in the morning AAOS recommends serving a hot breakfast to participants. If the workshop is held in the afternoon AAOS recommends serving a light lunch to participants prior to beginning the workshop. The four hour workshop includes a short break for participants and faculty. There are no training materials or workshop workbook for participants. AAOS will provide workshop participants a TeamSTEPPS flipbook that summarizes the training.

An ideal workshop has 20 – 30 participants comprised of physicians and allied health professionals.
