It’s Your Decade! Want to get involved?
The time is now to participate in the movement to increase awareness of the impact of musculoskeletal conditions. The worldwide Bone and Joint Decade is an international collaborative movement focused on improving the quality of life for people affected by musculoskeletal disorders. The U.S. President has officially proclaimed the years 2002-2011 the United States Bone and Joint Decade. All 50 U.S. states, around 100 U.S. public, patient and physician healthcare organizations and all 125 medical schools have declared their support for the Decade, as well as individual physician practices and hospitals.
To review the goals of the Decade visit the USBJD website at www.usbjd.org. Also available are brochures, posters and other materials for your office. And if you are interested in getting more involved with the activities of the Decade, send an e-mail to usbjd@usbjd.org.
Help us welcome Mexico as the Guest Nation for the New Orleans meeting. Stop by the Guest Nation exhibit to say “hola” and to learn about the long-standing educational partnership between AAOS and the two main orthopaedic associations in Mexico: the Asociación Mexicana de Ortopedia y Traumatología (AMOT) and the Sociedad Mexicana de Ortopedia (SMO). Look for special events and activities that will focus on Mexico and the issues facing the Mexican orthopaedic community.
Inaugurated in 2005, the AAOS Guest Nation program was established to foster greater recognition and awareness of the contributions made to the practice of Orthopaedics from the many nations of the world, and to further enhance the robust international flavor and excitement of the AAOS Annual Meeting.
