AAOS E-Mail Stations, CME Kiosks & Wi-Fi Cafe

Morial Convention Center

For your convenience the Academy will offer the following services in the Morial Convention Center:

Use the AAOS E-Mail Stations to access your email and connect to the internet. These convenient stations will provide you with a computer and printer.

CME Kiosks will be available to print your certificate for the Annual Meeting and participating Specialty Societies.

Wireless internet access – at no charge – will be available in the Wi-Fi Cafe for use with your laptop. Wired internet connection for your laptop will also be offered at no charge at the Laptop Hook-Up Stations.

See the new OKU Trauma 4, Advanced Reconstruction: Knee, and hundreds of educational programs, including publications, DVDs, and self-assessment exams. Stop by and browse the Academy’s collection of educational materials or ask our friendly staff for assistance. See demonstrations of electronic media programs that

build your clinical skills and challenge your problem solving aptitude. Regardless of your practice profile, you’ll find something of interest at the Academy’s Resource Center Bookstore.

Restaurant Reservations

Morial Convention Center, Hall A Lobby

“On the Town” a local New Orleans concierge and restaurant reservation service will be available on-site in the Morial Convention Center to assist you in selecting restaurants and entertainment venues during your stay in New Orleans. This service offers:

Current menus of New Orleans' outstanding restaurants to peruse and mini menus for the taking
Confirmed reservation slips with the address and phone number of the desired restaurant or activity
Their own dining guide with updated restaurant reviews, seasonal hours and prices covering the many different types of New Orleans cuisines
Current city/restaurant maps
One and three day transit passes

AAOS Job Placement Center

Morial Convention Center, Academy Hall B2

The Academy’s job placement service, providing a list of employment opportunities and candidates, will be available at the Annual Meeting.

Wednesday - Saturday	7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday	7:00 AM –5:30 PM

Participants

The Job Placement Center has been established for the benefit of the Academy membership. In addition, hospital or practice administrators and medical staff personnel are permitted to access the Placement Center. All participants must have an active listing. Professional recruiters are not allowed to participate in this service. This policy is strictly upheld by the Academy. Due to space limitations, we ask that you limit attendance to 2 representatives per company.

Registration Fees/Check-In

All participants MUST register for the Annual Meeting to gain entry to the Job Placement Center. Advanced registration fee is $150 per person. On-site registration fee is $250 per person.

All participants must check-in at the on-site Job Placement Center in order for your practice opportunity or Job Seekers ad to be advertised in the on-site booklets. Listings checked-in before 3:00 PM will appear in the next day’s books. The listings of Job Seekers and Practice Opportunities, represented at the meeting, will be available Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 AM.

We encourage you to submit new listings prior to attending the meeting. All listings are posted online on the next business day after receipt of your listing.

New Listings

If you would like to submit a new ad on-site, the fee for placing an employment opportunity ad is $600. Check, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted. There is no fee to orthopaedic surgeons looking for employment. All listings will run for one year. Listings can be submitted or edited directly from the AAOS Web site: www.aaos.org/placement.

Bulletins Boards

All participants must check-in prior to posting their ad on the bulletin board. An active listing is required in order to post your ad on-site. Only orthopaedic surgery opportunities will be posted. Posted items should NOT exceed 8.5” x 11”. Due to space limitations, only one poster per practice is allowed.

Interview Booths

The Job Placement Center may be used to conduct on-site interviews. Private interview space may be reserved on-site at the Job Placement Center office. Booths are not intended to be used as exhibit space nor may they be occupied by a candidate or employer for an extended period of time.
