Don’t forget to vote!
Balloting for the AAOS proposed resolutions and Standards of Professionalism (SOPs) is underway. Documents have been e-mailed, faxed, or mailed to all fellows eligible to vote, and you have until April 17, 2009, to respond.
You can cast your ballot online, fax your ballot to (847) 574-7493, or mail your ballot to the AAOS Research Department, Attn: Balloting, 6300 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018. The on-line ballot, recommendations, and reports of the AAOS Resolutions and Bylaws Committees, as well as the actual language of the documents being voted on, are available at www.aaos.org/bylaws
To be counted, ballots must be received by April 17, 2009. Adoption of any resolutions or SOPs requires that at least 20 percent of eligible fellows must vote. For resolutions, at least 50 percent of those voting must favor adoption; for SOPs, at least two-thirds of those voting must favor adoption.
