Operation Walk USA is a growing organization of volunteer orthopaedic surgeons whose mission is to provide pro bono surgical treatments to uninsured, underinsured, or poverty-stricken patients in the United States who are afflicted with disabling arthritis and other debilitating bone and joint conditions. It is not directly affiliated with Operation Walk (International), but is a separate organization that anticipates achieving 501(c)(3) status by the end of this year.

This year, Operation Walk USA will take place on Dec. 7, 2012, with a participation goal of at least one volunteer orthopaedic surgeon in every state.
