AAHKS seeks fellowship applications
Applications for the 2009-2011 American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) Health Policy Fellowship (HPF) are due Sept. 1, 2008. The goal of the HPF is to provide patients and physicians with a comprehensive, timely analysis of health policy issues pertaining to hip and knee surgery.

As developments in laws and regulations affect patient care reimbursement for hip and knee surgery, a pressing need exists to develop strategies to deal with these changes and to exercise influence over the law-making process. The program was created to provide an opportunity for future AAHKS members to get involved in the policy-making process and to help them become effective advocates.

The HPF is open to orthopaedic surgeons in the United States who are now entering or currently participating in a joint/adult reconstruction fellowship, or who have completed this fellowship and are within the first 4 years of their clinical practice of orthopaedic surgery. Applications are available online at www.aahks.org; click on the “health policy” link on the left navigation bar.
