AOA seeks emerging orthopaedic leaders
The American Orthopaedic Association’s (AOA) Emerging Leaders Program offers up-and-coming and developing orthopaedic leaders an opportunity to grow their leadership skills in giving back to the profession. Any PGY-5 can join the program with a written recommendation from a current AOA member. An individual must join the Emerging Leaders Program within his or her first 5 years of practice.
The Emerging Leaders Program members benefit from opportunities to interact with AOA leaders through access to AOA functions. Emerging Leaders Program members are eligible to attend the Emerging Leaders Forum (June 9–10, 2009, Bonita Springs, Fla.), as well as the AOA annual meeting (June 10–13, 2009), immediately following the forum. The AOA invites Emerging Leaders Program members to submit scientific abstracts for consideration for presentation at its annual meeting—a great opportunity to demonstrate orthopaedic thought leadership.
Visit www.aoassn.org and click on “Emerging Leaders” for more information about the program or to support an Emerging Leader in your orthopaedic community.

AOFAS/AANA partner on surgical skills sports course
