Apply for the USBJD/I grant mentoring program
The United States Bone and Joint Decade/Initiative (USBJD/I) grant mentoring program provides early-career clinical investigators an opportunity to work with experienced researchers to assist them in securing funding and other survival skills required for pursuing an academic career. The program offers attendees the opportunity to maintain relationships with mentors until their application is funded.

The grant mentoring program is open to promising junior faculty, senior fellows or postdoctoral researchers nominated by their department or division chairs. It is also open to senior fellows or residents who are doing research and have a faculty appointment in place or confirmed. Basic and clinical investigators, without or with training awards (including K awards), are invited to apply.

Investigators selected to take part in the program will attend two workshops, 12 to18 months apart, and work with faculty between workshops to develop their grant applications.

The next workshop will take place Nov. 10–12, 2011, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The deadline for applications is July 15. For more information, visit www.usbji.org/rd/?yii
