AAHKS issues call for abstracts

Apply for AAHKS 4th Annual Resident Arthroplasty Course
The AAHKS 4th Annual Resident Course (for PGY3 residents) will be held Nov. 2, 2012, in Dallas. The application deadline is July 6, 2012, and all applications must be accompanied by a letter from the residency program director confirming the applicant’s ability to attend the course. AOFAS calls for abstracts, applications
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) seeks abstracts for its Specialty Day meeting March 23, 2013, in Chicago. Abstracts will be accepted online through June 8, 2012, at www.aofas.org/specialtyday

The AOFAS is also seeking applications for membership. Membership is open to orthopaedists in training or practice with interest in the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge of foot and ankle care. CSRS issues call for abstracts
The Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) is accepting scientific abstracts for presentation at the 2012 annual meeting, Dec. 6–8, in Chicago. Abstracts are limited to 500 words and can be considered for research awards upon request. The submission deadline is June 1; all abstracts must be submitted online at www.csrs.org

Hip Society announces new traveling fellowship
The Hip Society Rothman-Ranawat Traveling Fellowship is open to four young orthopaedic surgeons from around the world who have completed all appropriate training in orthopaedic surgery and have accomplished specific training in the field of hip surgery. New trauma courses at OTA annual meeting
New trauma courses will be offered as part of the OTA 2012 annual meeting, Oct. 3–6, 2012, in Minneapolis, including a 1-day grant writing workshop cosponsored by the Orthopaedic Research Society. Also being offered are a 2-day orthopaedic trauma bootcamp, an orthopaedic trauma nursing course, and an orthopaedic trauma course for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. OMeGA accepting applications for 2012–2013
OMeGA Medical Grants Association will be accepting residency/general education grant applications for the 2012–2013 academic year up until 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2012. Orthopaedic residency programs may apply for a grant of up to $5,000. Applications with a broader benefit to the residency program are given special consideration.
