Digital fusion system for hammertoe correction
Arrowhead Medical Device Technologies has released a second-generation version of its Arrow-Lok digital fusion device for the treatment and repair of proximal interphalangeal joint flexion deformity. Manufactured from stainless steel, the Arrow-Lok implant features a three-dimensional arrow shape at each end joined by a solid shaft. The implants are available in multiple lengths and in two different angles.

New knee system introduced
Corentec America, Inc.’s Lospa KneeŽ System offers an anatomically featured shape for both a cruciate retaining (CR) and a posterior stabilized (PS) knee within a single system. According to the company, the system’s femoral component features a single axis, providing articular stability with flexion for improved range of motion. The shape and dimension of the anterior flange are designed to provide optimal patella tracking. The system also features a patellar component, curved-on-curved tibial insert, tibial baseplate, and size combinations for CR and PS knees.

Total hip replacement device
Iconacy Orthopedic Implants has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance to market its I-Hip device for use in total hip replacement procedures. The I-Hip consists of femoral stem and acetabular cup porous-coated components intended for cementless press-fit fixation, patented highly cross-linked polyethylene liners, and cobalt-chromium alloy femoral heads.

Diskectomy system receives FDA clearance
NLT SPINE’s eSPIN powered diskectomy system (Fig. 1) is intended for cutting and grinding intervertebral disk material during diskectomy for fusion procedures in L2–S1 spinal segments in skeletally mature patients with DDD. DDD patients may also have up to grade I spondylolisthesis or retrolisthesis at the involved levels. Together with PROW FUSION, the device is designed for use with supplemental spinal fixation systems that have been cleared for use in the lumbosacral spine (ie, posterior pedicle screw and rod systems).

The manufacturer states that eSPIN provides significant disk evacuation in the contralateral side of the disk and more disk volume removed compared to standard instruments, with fewer instrument passes. Anterior cervical plate system
The Slimplicity Solo Anterior Cervical Plate System is intended for anterior cervical fixation to the cervical spine (C2–C7). According to the company, indications include degenerative disk disease (DDD), trauma, tumors, deformity, psuedarthrosis, failed previous fusion, spondylolisthesis, and spinal stenosis. Slimplicity features slim profile plates and a secure locking mechanism that accommodates visual locking confirmation. The system consists of one- and two-level plates and 4.5 mm fixed and variable screws and includes an ergonomic color-coded instrument set.

Fixation devices for hip arthroscopy
Smith & Nephew has announced that indications for using its HEALICOIL™ PK Suture Anchor have been expanded to include abductor repair. According to the company, the HEALICOIL PK Suture Anchor features a unique open-architecture design that uses less material than traditional, solid-core anchors while still providing significantly more thread engagement and greater pullout strength than its competitors.
The company also announced that indications for the OSTEO-RAPTOR™ Suture Anchor now include labral reconstruction. With its small size (2.3 mm) and reliable and strong fixation, the OSTEORAPTOR Suture Anchor enables surgeons to use multiple anchors in a small joint space. These naturally biocompatible suture anchors are made of hydroxyapapatite (HA).
