Put sex in your practice
The Women’s Health Issues Advisory Board scientific exhibit, SE84, is designed to show you how you can “Put Sex into Your Orthopaedic Practice.” Focusing primarily on osteoporosis and hip fractures, the exhibit analyzes the current state of research related to gender dimorphism, promotes the consideration of risk factor differences and comorbidity differences between men and women, highlights surgical choice differences in treatment management, examines the role of genetics, specifically any gender dimorphism in the COL I protein, and considers differences in the contribution of estrogen/estrogen receptor with regard to risk of hip fracture.
See this and other scientific exhibits through Sunday at Moscone West, Level 1. Authors will be available today from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to answer your questions and provide additional information on any of the exhibits.
