ORS honors outstanding research
At the annual meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) yesterday, outstanding contributions to the field of orthopaedic research were recognized with the presentation of the following awards:
The William Harris Award was presented to Markus A.Wimmer, PhD, for his work on Wear mechanisms in metal-on-metal bearings: The importance of tribochemical reaction layers.
The Marshall R. Urist Award was presented to Kyriacos A. (Kerry) Athanasiou, PhD, PE.
The ORS/American Orthopaedic Association Alfred R. Shands, Jr. Award and Lecture was given to Thomas A. Einhorn, MD.
The Arthur Steindler Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Med. Reinhold Ganz.
