BONES Society adopts new name
By Julie Kahlfeldt
Change reflects professionalism of practice managers
The BONES Society, whose 1,500 members manage orthopaedic practices throughout the United States, is now the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE). The name change is part of a larger rebranding initiative intended to reflect the increasing complexity of managing an orthopaedic office, the professional credentials of the association’s members, and the value the association provides, including unmatched peer-to-peer networking.
“Today, an orthopaedic practice can be a complicated business, often including ancillary services, ambulatory surgery centers and specialty hospitals, sophisticated diagnostic and imaging technologies, as well as a large number of physicians,” says David Demchuck, AAOE president and chief executive officer of Front Range Orthopedic Center (Longmont, Colo.). “The board of directors felt it was time to adjust the association’s image to reflect more accurately the professional sophistication of our members. Our new name and brand are dynamic and relevant, thereby showcasing our energy and industry leadership.”
