USBJD plans global network conference
By Toby King
The U.S. Bone and Joint Decade (USBJD) is busy planning for the Bone and Joint Decade Global Network Conference, to be held Oct. 21–24, 2009, at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. Representatives from patient, health-care professional, and specialty society organizations from about 60 countries will be attending. Strong representation and participation from patient representatives and participating organizations in the United States are also anticipated.
Stuart L. Weinstein, MD, AAOS past president, is serving as one of the conference co-chairs, along with Nancy Lane, MD, USBJD past president. Several AAOS members will have key roles at the conference, including Gunnar B.J. Andersson, MD; Bruce D. Browner, MD; James N. Weinstein, DO, MS; Joshua J. Jacobs, MD; Kenneth J. Koval, MD; and Kimberly J. Templeton, MD.
Be a part of it all
Join in the most significant gathering of the USBJD and the leadership of its participating organizations to welcome the representatives of Bone and Joint Decade National Action Networks from around the world.
Perhaps your organization would like to participate in a strategic planning specialty group to identify issues and opportunities for collaboration by the musculoskeletal community to raise awareness and advocate for musculoskeletal health over the next few years. Contact me for more information.
