Plan to Attend Opening Ceremony
Join your colleagues at Wednesday’s Opening Ceremony, marking the official start of the 2012 Annual Meeting. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. in the Gateway Ballroom of the Moscone Convention Center.
Highlights include an address by AAOS President Daniel J. Berry, MD, summarizing the Academy’s achievements in 2011, the introduction of Japan as Guest Nation, and the debut of the AAOS 2012 public service advertising (PSA) campaign on overuse injuries, distracted driving, obesity, and lessons learned in wartime.
In addition, the anniversaries of the American Orthopaedic Association (125 years), Clinical Orthopaedic Society (100 years), and Federation of Spine Associations (25 years) will be recognized, and AAOS CEO Karen L. Hackett, FACHE, CAE, will deliver her report to the fellowship. The following awards will be presented:
- Kappa Delta Ann Doner Vaughan Award
- Kappa Delta Elizabeth Lanier Award
- Kappa Delta Young Investigator Award
- Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) Clinical Research Award
