AFSH seeks board nominations
The American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand (AFSH), the philanthropic arm of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), is seeking nominations for its board of trustees. Open positions include vice president, secretary, ASSH member trustee and industry representative trustee. Trustees serve for 2 years, and may be re-elected once. The mission of the AFSH is to advance the care of hand and upper extremity disorders by supporting education and research through the efficient collection of donations and administration of grants.

David M. Lichtman, MD, chair of the 2007 AFSH Nominating Committee, notes that the AFSH will initiate a research capital campaign this fall, so it is an exciting time to come aboard and serve on the philanthropic AFSH Board. Address specific questions on the positions to Dr. Lichtman at DLichtma@jpshealth.org. New AFSH Board members will be announced at the ASSH Member Business Meeting in Seattle on Sept. 27, 2007.

Please submit your letter of nomination addressing the ten AFSH nomination criteria that are posted on the ASSH website to Liz Rice-Conboy (lrice-conboy@assh.org). Nominations will close on Aug. 1, 2007.
