Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery British (JBJSB) Offers Free Access to Its Online Content
The JBJSB is essential reading for orthopaedic surgeons, orthopaedic residents, and those working with trauma patients.

We wrote to the new orthopaedic residents in the US in late 2006 to offer free access to the online content of the JBJSB for a 6-month period. Click here if you have not already registered for this free access.

OREF announces new grant available:
NIAMS/OREF National Research Service Award Post Doctoral Fellowships in Epidemiology, Clinical Trials, and Outcomes Research in Orthopaedic Surgery (F32)

The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), in partnership with OREF, announces the availability of individual National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Fellowships to support the training of orthopaedic surgeons. These awards will supplement surgeons’ knowledge of orthopaedics with training in epidemiology, clinical trials, and outcomes research.

The fellowships are intended to support up to two years of advanced training to obtain a Masters of Public Health — or similar relevant area of study — and/or a Ph.D. in epidemiology, which will qualify the fellow to pursue a career in these areas as they relate to orthopaedic surgery.

OREF will provide a supplemental yearly stipend to the fellow of $30,000. Application deadlines are February 23, June 23, and October 23 of 2007, and February 23 and June 23 of 2008.
