AAOS/ORS Clinical Trials in Orthopaedics (CTO) Research Symposium

- Dates: May 7-9, 2009 / Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Participants: Orthopaedic surgeons, Young Investigators, researchers, industry representatives, government representatives, and other medical specialties (by invitation only).
- Purpose: The AAOS/ORS Clinical Trials in Orthopaedics Research Symposium will serve to create a forum that brings together experts from multiple disciplines to identify cultural barriers to conducting orthopaedic randomized clinical trials (ORCT), identify methodological issues in ORCT, and develop research priorities for the future of OCRT.

- Identify the cultural barriers that exist in orthopaedic clinical trials.
- Identify the methodological issues in orthopaedic randomized clinical trials.
- Develop and prioritize research in orthopaedic RCTs.
- Final Symposium Agenda (in PDF format)
- A summary article will be published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery in late 2009.
