AAOS Research Symposia and Scientific Meetings
The AAOS has been involved with many outstanding researchers in the development and presentation of information on the "cutting edge" of orthopaedics. We are proud of the work that these individuals have done in the advancement of orthopaedics and invite you to find out more about what has been accomplished at these events.
The AAOS Research Symposia (formerly the AAOS/NIH workshops) represent a long history of collaboration between the Academy, governmental agencies, industry, specialty societies, the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF), the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), leading researchers, and clinicians. The workshops, held annually, are designed to define the knowledge base in a chosen topic area based on scientific evidence, to identify gaps in the knowledge base, and to outline future research opportunities. The workshops provide an opportunity for experts to exchange information and develop collaborative endeavors through scientific presentations and active discussion groups. Symposium involvement is by invitation only.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal for a Research Symposium, please contact the Research Development Committee Liaison, Erin L. Ransford, AAOS Manager of Research Development, at Ransford@aaos.org or (847)384-4319.
Publications resulting from the workshops (2003 or earlier only) are available for purchase.
