Technology Overviews
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) has developed and is providing overviews of technologies that are of interest to its members.
These Technology Overviews are educational tools prepared using systematic review methodology, and they summarize the findings of published studies. As summaries, these documents do not make recommendations nor should they be construed as official positions of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Readers are encouraged to consider the information presented and reach their own conclusions. Patient care and treatment should always be based on a clinician’s independent medical judgment given the individual clinical circumstances.
