New Decade. Advanced Solutions.
Optimize your surgical skills and learn new techniques

Spend two days practicing contemporary surgical techniques for the management of massive rotator cuff tears. Expert faculty lead you through numerous procedures using cutting-edge instruments and devices.

Techniques covered include complex cuff repair, patch augmentation, superior capsular reconstruction, tendon transfers and reverse arthroplasty. Go beyond the procedures with engaging lectures on rehabilitation, complications, value and practice management.

The majority of the course takes place in the cadaver lab practicing and refining these procedures and reviewing equipment applications as they relate to your practice. Outside the lab, enjoy a dynamic blend of debates, surgical demonstration videos, and small group sessions to discuss interesting cases, including your own challenges, with peers and faculty.

Bring a PA at a discounted rate for a unique opportunity to work together and strengthen your performance as a team!
PAs can attend lectures, view surgical demonstrations, and observe in the lab. Please note: PAs must register with an orthopaedic surgeon by calling AAOS Customer Service at 1-800-626-6726 and providing the name of the surgeon that is registered for the course.

At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:
  • Describe the techniques and perform arthroscopic repair of a massive rotator cuff tear, as well as concomitant arthroscopic procedures treating the biceps and suprascapular nerve
  • Identify characteristics of tears that are not repairable, and when to consider alternative treatment options to rotator cuff repair
  • Perform alternative treatments such as patch reconstruction and superior capsular reconstruction for massive rotator cuff tears
  • Review the anatomy and perform tendon transfers as a salvage option for massive rotator cuff tears
  • Recognize the indications and demonstrate the surgical techniques for arthroplasty in patients with non-repairable massive rotator cuff tears or failed rotator cuff repairs

Learn It. Watch It. Analyze It. Practice It.

  1. Learn techniques through lectures and case discussions
  2. Watch pre-recorded demonstration videos
