AAOS seeks nominations for MORE Awards

Have you come across any outstanding orthopaedic-related stories in the media lately? If so, why not nominate it for the 2008 Media Orthopaedic Reporting Excellence (MORE) Awards? The MORE Awards recognize and honor efforts by journalists that further the public’s understanding of musculoskeletal health issues and encourage healthy behaviors in the care of bones, joints, and muscles. MORE Awards are given in the following categories:

The entry deadline is October 31, 2007. Eligible entries must have been published or broadcast between October 1, 2006, and October 1, 2007. The competition is open to all journalists, freelance writers, editors, and producers in print, broadcast, or online media; rules and entry forms can be downloaded from www.aaos.org/moreawards

“Educating the public and patients is an important component of our mission and the MORE Awards are designed to recognize journalists whose work helps accomplish this,” explained AAOS President James H. Beaty, MD. “The MORE Awards were created to recognize the members of the media who—by virtue of their ability to ask the right questions and connect all the answers in a concise educational package—place orthopaedic-related issues and medical advancements in the spotlight.”
