Register now for ASSH annual meeting
The 63rd annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) will take place Sept. 18–20, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel in Chicago. Registration is now open. Program chair John G. Seiler III, MD, and his committee have put together an educational program that focus on the newest developments in the field, improved surgical techniques, and the information that will enable hand surgeons to continuously improve the care they provide. Program highlights include 70 scientific papers, 14 symposia, a series of precourses, hands-on learning in the computer courses, small group discussions on interactive case reviews, instructional course lectures, and industry-sponsored product demonstration workshops.

Preliminary programs have been mailed to members. To register, visit the ASSH Web site.

AFSH seeks fellowship nominations
Each year the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand (AFSH) selects an upper extremity surgeon from an underserved part of the world and awards a scholarship for study in the United States. Do you know of a deserving young surgeon who would benefit from 3 months of study in the United States but needs a financial award to make the travel feasible? Is there a surgeon who will be visiting your program in 2009 who wishes to stay longer and visit other hand surgeons?
