Don’t miss the May 1 MOC deadline

Does your board certification expire in 2011, 2012, or 2013? If so, you may be planning to take the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Maintenance of Certification™ (MOC) examination in 2011. To do so, you must submit an examination application and application fee online via by May 1, 2010.

You should have already submitted documentation of 120 AMA PRA Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits™, including at least 20 credits from one or two scored and recorded self-assessment examinations (due Dec. 15, 2009).

In addition, orthopaedic surgeons following the written examination pathway should have submitted their case list (also due Dec. 15, 2009). Those who have chosen to follow the oral examination pathway have until Dec. 15, 2010, to submit a 6-month case list of surgical cases they performed during 6 consecutive months in 2009–2010.
