Meet MOC requirements by Dec. 15 deadline

Dec. 15, 2010, is the deadline to satisfy the following American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements for diplomates whose certificates expire in 2012, 2013, or 2014 and who plan on taking the MOC exam in 2012:

Extended deadline with additional fee
Diplomates who cannot complete the CME and/or case list requirement (for those taking the written examination) by Dec. 15, 2010, can pay a late fee and receive an extended deadline of Jan. 7, 2011. If neither deadline is met, the diplomate will not be able to apply for the 2012 examination when it becomes available in February 2011.

Please note that submitting documentation of CME is a necessary prerequisite that must be met before applying for the exam in February 2011. Submitting documentation of CME does not in itself serve as an application for the exam.
