William J. Best appointed lay member of Academy Board of Directors

Business consultant William J. Best was appointed lay member for the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and assumed this position at the 2011 Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Consulting to a variety of healthcare organizations for the past 35 years, Mr. Best brings a wealth of business experience to this role. For more than 20 years, he was a partner at A.T. Kearney, an international management consulting firm, where he worked with senior management in the field of medical diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and home health care. One of his proudest achievements was establishing an international startup presence in Asia for A.T. Kearney; the organization grew to more than 300 consultants during his tenure. Mr. Best served on the Board of Directors of A.T. Kearney for 10 years.
