Professional Compliance Actions

At its meeting on Feb. 6, 2012, the Board of Directors of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) considered the following compliance matters not related to the AAOS Standards of Professionalism and took the actions indicated.

Henry W. Albers, MD
Cincinnati, Ohio
Expelled

The AAOS Board of Directors voted to expel Dr. Albers based on the indefinite suspension of his medical license by the State Medical Board of Ohio, as well as Dr. Albers’ guilty plea to felony charges on Sept. 21, 2011.

Bernard Z. Albina, MD
Houston, Texas
Expelled

The AAOS Board of Directors voted to expel Dr. Albina based on the Texas Medical Board’s order suspending his medical license and prohibiting him from practicing medicine in the state. Dr. Albina currently does not possess a valid medical license.
