AAHKS hosts premeeting courses
The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) Orthopaedic Team Member Course will be held in Dallas, Nov. 2, 2012, prior to the AAHKS annual meeting. This course has been specifically created for advanced practice nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and surgical assistants specializing in total joint arthroplasty. Expert faculty will present diagnostic and radiographic work-ups and review physical exams, office-based procedures, and differential diagnoses. For more information, visit

The AAHKS 3rd Annual Resident Course (for PGY3 residents) will also be held in Dallas on Nov. 2. This course provides residents with the opportunity to learn the latest information regarding total joint arthroplasty from nationally known experts. Course attendees receive free tuition for both the Resident Arthroplasty Course and the AAHKS annual meeting, airfare up to $400, lodging, and meals. The application deadline is July 6, 2012, and all applications must be accompanied by a letter from the residency program director confirming the applicant’s ability to attend the course. 2013 ASES Research Grant Award
Applications are now being accepted for the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) 2013 Research Grant Award. The $20,000 grant is for basic or clinical investigations and is open to orthopaedic departments only; proposals must be in NIH R01 format and no longer than 10 pages.
