AOSSM OA grant
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) offers a $50,000 award to support either a clinical research study or a lab/basic science project related to early osteoarthritis (OA) and/or prevention of OA progression. Studies that evaluate potential chondroprotective interventions in animal models of OA are encouraged, as are studies that use knee joint injury in humans as a model for testing interventions that might improve the outcomes related to cartilage health and OA. Projects involving viscosupplementation will not be considered. The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2015. For more information, visit

ORS/OREF/AAOS New Investigator Workshop deadline
The Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), Orthopaedic Research Education Foundation (OREF), and AAOS New Investigator Workshop will take place May 15–16, 2015, in Rosemont, Ill. The program is open to junior faculty, postdoctoral researchers, clinical fellows, and residents with a commitment to pursuing an academic research career. Basic science and clinical investigators (PhD, MD, MS) with or without training awards are also invited to attend. The application deadline is March 2. For more information, visit
