Knee positioner for arthroscopic surgery
Innovative Medical Product’s De Mayo Knee Positioner
® (A) with the De Mayo Universal Distractor® features a single locking lever for precise control of flexion, extension, tilt, and rotation of the knee while distracting the knee during arthroscopic surgery. The lighter, reengineered base reportedly makes it easier for operating room (OR) personnel to place and manipulate the positioner on the OR table and for hospital personnel to transport and insert the equipment into a sterilizer. Lesser toe repair system
The Hat-Trick™ Lesser Toe Repair System from Smith & Nephew features a three-part approach for treatment of lesser toe deformity. The system includes products for metatarsophalangeal ligament repair and reconstruction; a metatarsal osteotomy guide that reportedly allows for a controlled, precise, and reproducible approach that maintains the biomechanical axis of the metatarsal; and a revisable, all-PEEK implant for proximal interphalangeal fusion. Suture system for hallux valgus repair
Arthrosurface, Inc.’s KISSloc Suture System is a miniplate and suture implant intended for the correction of a hallux valgus deformity. The system’s two low-profile plates and self-cinching suture construct are designed to correct hallux valgus by reducing the intramedullary angle between the first and second metatarsal bones. KISSloc is sterile packaged with completely disposable instrumentation to minimize the risk of infection. The 1.2-mm bone tunnels are intended to significantly reduce the stress on the bone caused by larger holes, while the low-profile plates distribute the load across a larger area. Only one KISSloc construct is needed to achieve hallux valgus correction, instead of two separate suture bridges, according to the manufacturer. For more information, visit
