AOFAS resident scholarships
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) Resident Scholarship Program, open to PGY2 and PGY3 residents, enables orthopaedic residents to attend the 2015 AOFAS annual meeting, July 15–18, in Long Beach, Calif. AOFAS new grant opportunity
The AOFAS has expanded its annual Research Grants Program to include pilot seed grants with funding up to $5,000. Grant recipients must be AOFAS resident or fellow members and use the data obtained from the projects to develop future grant applications. For more information, visit

AOSSM OA grant
The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) offers a $50,000 award to support either a clinical research study or a laboratory/basic science project related to early osteoarthritis (OA) and/or prevention of OA progression, particularly studies that evaluate potential chondroprotective interventions in animal models of OA. Studies that use knee joint injury in humans as a model for testing interventions that might improve the outcomes related to cartilage health and OA are also encouraged. Projects involving viscosupplementation will not be considered. The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2015. For more information, visit
