Don't Miss the Technical Exhibits at Annual Meeting

At the AAOS Annual Meeting, learning extends well beyond the educational sessions. The Technical Exhibits, for example, offer an unparalleled opportunity to view and compare the latest in orthopaedic products and services.

"The Technical Exhibits provide attendees with a single destination—and multiple opportunities—to complement the educational activities of the AAOS Annual Meeting," said Joseph T. Moskal, MD, FACS, Exhibits Committee chair.

"There is so much to do in the exhibit halls: see, touch, and compare products; attend demonstrations; and ask questions of representatives from more than 700 national and international companies," he said.

Here in Orlando, exhibits will be on display from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, in the Orange County Convention Center, West Building, Halls AB. One hour of unopposed exhibit time will be provided each day from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., enabling attendees to tour the exhibit floor without missing an educational session.

Included among the more than 700 exhibitors are companies specializing in implants, bone and tissue products, computer software, surgical equipment and instruments, and practice management. These products are designed to meet the specific needs of orthopaedic surgeons from resident to experienced practitioner.

"This is the largest gathering of orthopaedic product and service companies in the world. Attendees can explore and compare thousands of innovative devices, software, applications, and business tools to assist them in providing a higher level of care to their patients and managing their practices more effectively," Dr. Moskal said.

"Exhibitors at the AAOS Annual Meeting make a considerable investment to meet with attendees. In return, attendee participation helps support the incomparable array of educational opportunities available at the meeting," he added.

What follows is a sampling of the free non-CME educational opportunities and other activities sponsored by the AAOS that will be available in the exhibit halls.

Ask an Expert
Ask an Expert in Booth 672 is an interactive opportunity for attendees to present a perplexing case to experts in orthopaedic specialties. Attendees are encouraged to bring their HIPAA-compliant case challenges and present them for diagnosis and recommendation. Audience participation will complement the exchange of ideas. Details on specific sessions and instructions for presenting cases are available on the AAOS website at www.aaos.org/exhibits.
