AAOS 2019 Annual Meeting Offers a Variety of Resident-focused Activities

Nowhere else can residents interact with expert faculty, experience remarkable technological advances, and participate in tailored activities developed exclusively for them. These Annual Meeting activities are designed to help residents prepare for practice and further their careers.

Practice Management for Residents and Fellows-in-Training #191
Tuesday, March 12, 12:30–5 p.m.
This half-day course reviews the essential elements of practice management and provides the foundation residents need to prepare for practice.

Resident Assembly Open Forum
Wednesday, March 13, 10–11 a.m.
The Resident Assembly Open Forum is an opportunity for residents to present and discuss their advisory opinions to affect change in AAOS. The proposed actions will be voted on at the Resident Assembly the following day.

Thursday, March 14, 8–9:30 a.m.
During this new course, professionals will offer guidance on how residents can successfully navigate the transition from resident to practicing physician.

Forum for Young Orthopaedic Surgeons with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS)
Thursday, March 14, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Residents who attend this unique forum will learn critical information about ABOS requirements and procedures from David F. Martin, MD, executive medical director of the ABOS.

Resident Assembly Business Meeting—Get involved!
Thursday, March 14, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
The Resident Assembly provides residents with lifelong learning, leadership, and the opportunity to impact the AAOS organization and professional advancement.

Resident Bowl—Sponsored by DePuy Synthes
Thursday, March 14, 4–6 p.m.
During the fourth annual AAOS Resident Bowl, teams of residents will compete in a game-style setting, answering orthopaedic and nonorthopaedic trivia questions for grand and runner-up prizes.
