Chapter 07 Video 2: Side View of a Pitcher

The value of videotaping pitchers in a motion analysis lab is seen in this video. Here, viewed from above, the pitcher's motion is easily evaluated. The pitcher steps directly towards home plate, which is to the right, leading with his hips at the beginning portion of the motion, mirroring his lead arm and his dominate throwing arm. This motion is completed in a balanced and patterned way that allows him to be efficient and deliver an excellent pitch.
