Abstract

Pelvic fractures can result from low- or high-energy injuries. The resultant disruption of the pelvic ring can cause severe disability. A successful outcome depends on a thorough initial evaluation; treatment options include external fixation and longitudinal traction, pelvic packing, and angiographic embolization.
