AAOS fellows whose certification expires in 2014, 2015, or 2016 and who plan to take the ABOS Maintenance of Certification (MOC) examination in 2014 should check their MOC dashboards on the ABOS website (www.abos.org) for the application. The application deadline is May 1, 2013.
AAOS fellows whose certification expires in 2014 must submit the following by May 1, 2013:
- The application to take the exam
- 120 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™ (including self-assessment credits) from 2010 to 2012
- For the computer examination pathway—a 3-month surgical case list, with a minimum of 14 consecutive cases, and a maximum of 75 consecutive cases. (Those who do not meet the minimum should call the ABOS office for instructions.)
- For the oral examination pathway—a 6-month list of surgical cases performed during 6 consecutive months (2012–2013)
Diplomates whose certificates expire in 2015 or 2016 who wish to take the recertification exam in 2014 must meet the same requirements and deadlines.
