Build Needs Brawn

Many hands make light work, so the saying goes. That's especially true for the AAOS Safe and Accessible Playground Build. With hundreds of volunteers (orthopaedic surgeons and their families, allied healthcare and industry partners, and community members) contributing a few hours—or a full day—a playground where children with and without disabilities can have fun together can take shape.

In 2000, the AAOS introduced the playground build program in Orlando, Fla., as a way for the AAOS to show its commitment to the communities that host the Annual Meeting. As the AAOS returns to Orlando, the upcoming 2016 playground build will mark 17 years of safe fun for children across the country.

Join your colleagues for an experience you will long remember! Be a part of the 2016 AAOS Safe and Accessible Playground Build on Tuesday, March 1. Give the gift of a playground to a deserving community in the Orlando area where children with and without disabilities can play safely together. Registering as a build volunteer is easy. Simply download the playground sponsor and volunteer registration forms online at www.aaos.org/playground, or contact Kayee Ip (847-384-4035 or ip@aaos.org). All volunteers receive detailed information prior to the event.
