It's Time to Update Your Disclosures

It's time for AAOS members to review and update their disclosure information. The AAOS Mandatory Disclosure Policy requires the disclosure program to be updated at least semiannually (April and October). All AAOS members involved in organizational governance and all forms of continuing medical education are required to complete disclosure in the AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program, as are authors of enduring materials, editors-in-chief and editorial boards, and those involved in development of clinical practice guidelines, appropriate use criteria, and performance measures. It is recommended that participants note any changes to the disclosure program as soon as possible after they occur. Participants are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their information. The AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program can be accessed at www.aaos.org/disclosure. AAOS log in is required. AAOS members who have previously disclosed conflicts of interest in the AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program will soon be receiving an email reminder that it is time to review the information and update as needed. The Academy and many orthopaedic specialty and state orthopaedic societies use the AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program to increase transparency, simplify the disclosure process, reduce the number of requests made for disclosure information, and save time. Members are encouraged to take a few moments to complete a review of their current disclosure information and update it. Questions can be emailed to disclosure@aaos.org
