The AAOS Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) is a collection of nearly 700 surgical technique videos across a variety of orthopaedic specialties. Each year, renowned experts and innovators from around the globe share their surgical techniques and approaches via OVT video submissions, which are available for viewing at the AAOS 2018 Annual Meeting.
At the AAOS 2018 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, 11 video programs were honored as OVT 2018 Award Winners and six received honorable mentions. Awards were presented to a number of these well-respected orthopaedic educators at a ceremony on March 9.
Annual Meeting attendees and AAOS members can explore the award-winning and honorable mention video titles, plus hundreds of other videos, via the new AAOS online learning platform at learn.aaos.org. The videos are also accessible on the AAOS Access app for both iOS and Android mobile devices.
With the online learning platform and app, users have more flexibility and better access to the full OVT collection, with quick searches and easy navigation by topic. The iOS app for iPhone and iPad also allows users to download videos directly to a device to watch at the user’s convenience, without having to rely on Internet access. To download the app, visit the App Store or Google Play.
The OVT provides unlimited access to videos that are all reviewed by experts, many of whom are pioneers in their fields of expertise. The peer-review process helps ensure the demonstrations are safe and effective. The OVT continues to be a valuable resource to orthopaedic surgeons at all levels, around the world. And now, more than 200 videos include CME. At .75 credits per program, OVT CME is the continuing education extension of this popular collection.
