The longstanding Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) Plus collection on video.aaos.org soon will include more than 800 orthopaedic surgical technique videos—all from renowned experts and innovators around the globe. OVT’s library of peer-reviewed, high-quality, balanced video presentations features topics from across the orthopaedic landscape from anatomy and arthroscopy to cutting-edge techniques. Now, more than 300 OVT Plus videos will include continuing medical education (CME) opportunities. At 0.75 credits per program, this amounts to nearly 265 hours of CME now available free to AAOS members as a benefit of all levels of membership.
Each OVT Plus video is reviewed by subject matter experts to ensure it provides practical instruction, as well as pearls and pitfalls to improve patient outcomes. Each surgical technique video includes indications, pre- and postoperative images, and references, and many include outcomes information. Each video provides perspective from the surgeon’s point of view, from the surgeon’s side of the table.
Of all the OVT Plus submissions received, award-winning programs were chosen and will be recognized at the AAOS 2019 Annual Meeting, including 10 award winners and seven honorable mentions. This highly esteemed recognition is given to those identified by their peers as having programs that are exceptional in quality and content.
The OVT Plus collection of more than 800 surgical technique videos offers specialty coverage in each area of expertise. OVT provides AAOS members the opportunity to learn new techniques, get refreshers on many topics, and use the videos as reference tools.
