The Resident Assembly Education Forum engages residents, resident delegates, and program directors to accomplish several leadership and educational objectives, with the ultimate goal of sharing findings within the orthopaedic community to improve resident leadership, involvement, and education. This year’s forum is taking place Friday, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in Room E256 of the McCormick Place Convention Center.
The forum will open with a panel discussion by the Resident Assembly’s Executive and Education committees, followed by roundtable discussions moderated by program directors on best educational practices, implementation, and the future of orthopaedic resident education.
The agenda also includes a discussion regarding resident autonomy and topics relating to surgical skills, such as simulation training and the emerging role of augmented and virtual reality in surgical education; surgical training with constraints of reduced elective case volume; and preoperative planning to get the most out of cases.
Participants are encouraged to sign up prior to the event via the RSVP link in the My Academy app under the Resident Activities and Resident Education Forum. AAOS staff will be available at the door to provide table assignments.
Refreshments will be available at the forum. For questions regarding this event, contact the following individuals:
