AAOS offers a wide array of resources that are designed to give orthopaedic surgeons the tools they need to provide the highest-quality musculoskeletal care. Attendees of the AAOS 2022 Annual Meeting will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on demos of these offerings at the Quality Resources booth, located in the Resource Center in Academy Hall.
Launched in 2020, the AAOS Biologics Dashboard assists users in identifying and interpreting the current status of various biologic treatments, whether they are regulated as human cells, tissues, or cellular- or tissue-based products or devices. The dashboard is based on a combination of the most recent and readily available clinical evidence in conjunction with guidance released by the FDA.
During demos, participants will see how recent enhancements to this member-exclusive tool make it even easier to enter their queries on biologic interventions and receive recommendations using stoplight symbols—a red, yellow, or green light—regarding specific biologic products and their use.
Available via desktop or mobile app, OrthoGuidelines provides access to clinical practice guidelines and appropriate use criteria at users’ fingertips. The app delivers evidence-based recommendations at the point of care to assist clinicians with clinical decision-making and patient discussions. Take a demo to see how you can navigate all guideline recommendations by orthopaedic disease, specialty, keyword, strength of evidence, and/or stage of care.
The content available in AAOS Toolkits consists of information from AAOS and other trusted sources. Each toolkit contains tools and information to aid orthopaedic surgeons and surgical teams via clinician and patient education resources, quality-improvement and evidence-based tools, practice-management strategies, and advocacy and regulatory information. Toolkit titles include:
- Upper Extremity Fractures
- Shoulder and Elbow
- Pain Alleviation
- Surgical Risk Reduction
- Total Hip Arthroplasty
- Total Knee Arthroplasty
Users can also search by domain, including Advocacy, Clinical Education, Patient Education, Practice Management, and Quality Improvement. Take the demo to see how easy it is to search by topic and explore the available resources.
Attendees of the 2022 AAOS Annual Meeting are invited to view these demos, taking place in the AAOS Resource Center in Academy Hall. The Resource Center is open Thursday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
