Your safety is our priority. As the trusted leader in musculoskeletal healthcare, AAOS is working diligently with our partners and vendors to ensure that the necessary safety measures are in place so that you can make the most of your AAOS meeting experience in Chicago.
Planning for a safe meeting experience
AAOS has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation during every step of planning the 2022 Annual Meeting. One of the key actions the Academy has taken to safeguard your health while we are onsite in Chicago is requiring proof of vaccination. All exhibitors and attendees participating in the AAOS 2022 Annual Meeting are required to adhere to the Academy’s proof of vaccination policy, meaning that they have presented proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test result within 72 hours of arriving at the meeting. Consistent with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Academy has also encouraged participants to receive COVID-19 vaccine boosters if they are eligible.
AAOS 2022 onsite safety protocols
In addition to requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test, AAOS has also instituted the following onsite safety protocols to mitigate the risk of COVID infection:
- Onsite COVID-19 testing is available as a convenience to attendees. SafeExpo is providing onsite testing services for a fee in Room N139.
- McCormick Place employs a hospital-grade air filtration system. McCormick Place has achieved GBAC STAR accreditation for demonstrating that appropriate work practices and procedures are in place for cleaning, disinfecting, and preventing infection throughout the meeting venue, including HVAC air filters with efficient hospital-grade filters.
- Contactless food and beverage services are available to minimize interaction.
- Cleaning and sanitizing stations are available throughout the meeting venue. All high-touch areas are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
